Sofy (we enol) for

Sir,

(46)

With reference to Board of Trade letter of the

28th September, No. C.R.T.1066/33, concerning the

exportation from this country of reasonable quantities

of arms etc. to reputable consignees in Hong Kong "on

consignment", I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners

of the Admiralty to transmit for the information of the

Secretary of State for the Colonies, a copy of a letter

which has been addressed to the Board of Trade.

My Lords consider that it might be useful for the

Naval Authorities at Hong Kong to know what war material

is imported into Hong Kong and kept there under the

arrangements proposed, and They would be glad if the

Secretary of State would instruct the Governor of Hong

Kong to keep the Commodore, H.M.Dockyard, Hong Kong

informed in this respect.

Copies of this letter have been sent to the

Board of Trade, Foreign Office, Air Ministry, War Office

and Department of Overseas Trade.

The Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

S.W.1.

I am, Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

JSBarnes
